Welcome back to another challenge in The Cafe.

It's an exciting week here as we begin aNOTHer term

with one of the best design teams you can find in

the challenge world and with that comes announcements

regarding our designers.

We are SUPER excited to welcome...

Alica Thelin

"I’m a born and raised Californiagirl whose been transplanted to little ol’ Herriman, Utah. I’ve been married tomy devastatingly handsome husband, Brett, for twenty years. We have three sassychildren: Meagan-16, Madeline (Maddie)-14,

and my baby Alexander (Alex) 12.

In 1999 I became a Stampin’ UpDemonstrator in order to get out of the house, you know, a little grown-upconversation? I adored learning and teaching all about stamping. A few yearslater I found myself in the position to leave the home and go back to work fulltime while my husband went back to college. Blessings come in crazy ways youknow! Before I knew it I was working full-time as an Event Coordinator at theStampin’ Up! home office here in Riverton, Utah. My job blossomed into aConcept Artist for that team. Soon the actual Art Department approached me andfelt like I’d be a good fit. Greatest job ever. Stamping with new products allday long, everything in their catalog at my fingertips. Fun days!

Oh, but thecriticism was hard to swallow…

Eventually my husband finishedschool with another two degrees and obtained employment. I LOVED my job, butMISSED my kids. Time to come back home. It was excruciating to leave to say theleast, but I still have some great friends that I’ve been able to keep in touchwith. Not to mention all the mad stamping skills I was able to develop and takewith me.

Over the last three years I’ve beenre-learning how I like to create and share projects andexperiences on my blog, ScrappyBetties.This is my little corner of the paper-crafting world that I hold dear, where Ishare my h{art}. It’s a place for kind words, encouragement and a dose ofreproducible inspiration. I try to make things, and then let you know where Isucceeded and any little tips and tricks I may have learned along the way."

Hello all and welcome back to another great challenge

at The Play Date Cafe.

This week is a bittersweet week for us as we say

farewell to two of our designers.

Andrea Ewen began with us as our

2nd Private Blend Designer in 2010 and then joined our

team for two full terms.

She hadn't been blogging all that long when we 'found' her

and now, her blog and style are so very recognized.

Michele Gross hit the ground running here at The Cafe.

She joined our team over a year ago as our

Sponsorship Coordinator & Senior Designer.

We love her Clean and Classic style and know that

whatever she has up her sleeve next in the

creative world, she will be a dynamo!

We know it's not 'goodbye'....

We wish them both best wishes as they continue

I am hopelessly addicted to anything to do with paper, stamps, ink, all of the big girl toys. I started stamping in July 2007 but didn't get very serious about it until I discovered Splitcoast Stampers. After that, it was all over with. My style is just about anything depending on what's in front of me.
